Role Description

The SAP HANA Developer will play a key role in the design, architecture, and implementation of large-scale data warehousing solutions on the SAP HANA platform. This role involves working with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications, developing advanced SAP HANA information models, and optimizing system performance for complex enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SAP HANA development, be proficient in SQL scripting, and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead SAP HANA development, planning, and architecture for data warehousing initiatives.
  • Develop and optimize SAP HANA information models such as Attribute, Analytics, and Calculation views using graphical and SQL scripting techniques.
  • Implement SAP HANA procedures, triggers, functions, and SQL-based solutions.
  • Work with large datasets and perform data extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) using tools like SAP Business Object Data Services (BODS) or SSIS.
  • Manage SAP HANA migrations, system sizing, and performance tuning.
  • Translate functional specifications into technical specifications and execute development tasks accordingly.
  • Implement and optimize Smart Data Access (SDA) and SAP HANA Live analytics for real-time data integration.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in SAP HANA development and performance optimization.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in IT, with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on project experience in SAP HANA development.
  • Proficiency in SAP HANA development tools and techniques, including building information models (Attribute, Analytics, and Calculation views), stored procedures, and performance optimization.
  • Expertise in Transact-SQL (DDL, DML, DCL) and SAP HANA SQL scripting.
  • Experience with ETL tools like SAP Business Object Data Services (BODS), SSIS, or equivalent.
  • In-depth knowledge of database design, normalization, and performance tuning.
  • Functional understanding of SAP ERP, ECC, or S/4HANA business processes.
  • Experience in translating functional requirements into technical specifications for large-scale SAP projects.
  • Exposure to SAP S/4HANA is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a global environment.

Additional Requirements (Plus)

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL Script, ABAP Objects, Python, NodeJS, JavaScript, Java, .NET, RAP, or CAP.
  • Experience in enterprise data warehouse design, reporting strategy, and performance optimization.
  • Prior experience in SAP HANA migration, system sizing, and leveraging Smart Data Access (SDA) for real-time data access.
  • Knowledge of SAP Analytics Cloud or other reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Analysis for Office).
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly adapt to new tools and technologies.
  • Team player with the ability to communicate effectively and work in a collaborative environment.
