SAP Development performance tuning expert

Summary:

As an SAP S/4 HANA Performance Expert, you will be responsible for optimizing the performance of SAP systems, including ABAP development, Fiori applications, CDS views, HANA views, SQL tuning, and integration points. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify performance bottlenecks, propose and implement solutions, and ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of the SAP landscape to meet business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Performance Analysis: Conduct comprehensive performance analysis of SAP S/4 HANA systems, including ABAP code, Fiori applications, CDS views, HANA views, SQL queries, and integration points. Identify performance bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
ABAP Optimization: Analyze and optimize ABAP code, custom developments, reports, and enhancements to enhance system performance, reduce response times, and improve overall system efficiency.
Fiori Performance: Collaborate closely with the Fiori development team to review, optimize, and enhance Fiori applications, both front-end and back-end components, to deliver a superior user experience and achieve faster response times.
CDS View Optimization: Identify and optimize performance issues in Core Data Services (CDS) views to improve data retrieval and processing efficiency.
SQL Tuning: Analyze and optimize SQL queries used in ABAP programs, CDS views, and HANA views to minimize database response times and resource utilization.
Integration Optimization: Ensure smooth integration between SAP modules and external systems by optimizing data transfer, interfaces, and communication protocols to enhance overall system performance.
System Monitoring: Implement and maintain monitoring tools to track performance metrics r. Proactively identify issues and provide timely recommendations for improvement.
Performance Testing: Plan and execute performance testing scenarios to assess system performance under different loads and stress conditions. Ensure scalability and reliability.
Performance Tuning: Collaborate with Basis and infrastructure teams to tune system parameters, server configurations, and memory settings to achieve optimal performance levels.
Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of performance analysis, optimization techniques, and SAP best practices.
Technical Support: Provide expert technical support to resolve performance-related issues, incidents, and service requests related to performance raised by end-users or other IT teams.
Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest SAP technologies, performance optimization tools, integration patterns, and best practices to continuously improve system performance.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as an SAP Performance Expert with a focus on SAP S/4 HANA, ABAP, Fiori, CDS views, SQL tuning, and integration optimization.
Strong expertise in ABAP programming, debugging, and performance tuning techniques.
Experience in designing and optimizing Fiori applications for optimal user experience and performance.
Solid understanding of SAP S/4 HANA database architecture, CDS views, SQL optimization, and integration concepts.
Proficiency in SAP performance monitoring and analysis tools.
Familiarity with SAP Fiori/UI5, OData services, and front-end technologies.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Effective communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Additional Skills:

SAP S/4 HANA certification or relevant SAP certifications in ABAP, Fiori, CDS views, Integration, or Performance.
Knowledge of SAP HANA database and in-memory computing concepts.
Experience with SAP Solution Manager for performance monitoring and diagnostics.
Familiarity with SAP development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
Knowledge of SAP transport management and change control processes.
