Position Overview :-
We need to hire a highly experienced and results-driven Senior Lead ServiceNow Developer to join our technology team. This is a critical leadership role that requires a 6+ years of hands-on experience on the ServiceNow platform, deep technical expertise across multiple core modules, and proven capabilities in leading large development teams. The ideal candidate will architect, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable solutions, manage the end-to-end development lifecycle, and lead a large team of 30+ developers.
Key Responsibilities :-
Technical Leadership & Development :-
- Platform Development :- Serve as the technical authority for the ServiceNow platform, designing, developing, and implementing complex solutions using core platform capabilities (Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Workflow, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, etc.).
- Multi-Module Expertise :- Demonstrate deep, hands-on development expertise across various ServiceNow modules, including but not limited to :-
- IT Service Management (ITSM) :- Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Service Catalog, CMDB.
- Customer Service Management (CSM).
- IT Operations Management (ITOM) :- Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management.
- App Engine/Custom Applications :- Developing custom, scalable applications using the App Engine Studio and traditional platform tools.
- Integrations & APIs :- Design and implement robust integrations with third-party systems using REST/SOAP APIs and the Integration Hub.
- Advanced Scripting :- Maintain expert-level proficiency in JavaScript, Glide Scripting (GlideRecord, GlideAjax), Angular/React (for Service Portal/Next Experience), HTML, and CSS.
- Full Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Own and enforce the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for the ServiceNow platform, including requirement analysis, design, development, unit testing, deployment via Update Sets/Applications, and post-production support, following Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Team Leadership & Management :-
- Team Management :- Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing development team of 30 or more ServiceNow developers and administrators.
- Code Review & Quality :- Establish and enforce stringent coding standards, best practices, and perform regular, in-depth code reviews to ensure code quality, security, and optimal platform performance.
- Resource Planning :- Manage the allocation of team resources, project timelines, and delivery schedules across multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Mentorship :- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering skill development and a culture of continuous learning.
Strategy & Troubleshooting :-
- Architecture & Strategy :- Collaborate with Enterprise Architects and business stakeholders to define the long-term ServiceNow platform strategy, roadmap, and technical architecture.
- Performance & Health :- Proactively monitor and manage the platform’s health, performance, and compliance, ensuring adherence to ServiceNow best practices.
- Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis :-Utilize advanced troubleshooting and debugging capabilities to quickly diagnose and resolve complex production issues, identifying and addressing root causes to prevent recurrence.
- Upgrades & Maintenance :- Plan, lead, and execute platform upgrades, patches, and cloning activities to maintain system currency and stability.
Required Qualifications :-
- Experience :- Minimum 6 years of dedicated, hands-on experience with the ServiceNow platform development and administration.
- Team Leadership :- Proven experience leading and mentoring a large development team
- Certifications :-
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) (Mandatory).
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) (Mandatory).
- Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in at least two modules (e.g., CIS-ITSM, CIS-CSM, CIS-ITOM) (Highly Preferred).
- Methodology :- Strong practical experience working within an Agile/Scrum framework.
- Communication :- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills :-
- Experience with the Now Experience UI Builder and modern web frameworks (e.g., React, Angular).
- Knowledge of ITIL V4 principles and application.
- Experience with DevOps tools and practices for the ServiceNow platform (e.g., Automated Testing Framework – ATF, CI/CD pipelines).
